Beth Gadbaw is a Fulbright-award winning singer, teacher, and composer. On vocals and her Irish bodhran drum, she performs and creates artful heartful songs rooted in the Celtic tradition. Described by The Redstone Review as “a Celtic angel with her heart all in it”, Gadbaw is fueled by a passion for Celtic music that dwells in her bones and in her soul. As a singer, she has been honored to perform at Lyons' own Planet Bluegrass with former band Take Down the Door, Boston's Club Passim with her first band Siucra, and at L.A.'s Sylvia Woods Harp Center with longtime harp duo partner Margot Krimmel. She released her solo album at Boulder's Chautauqua Community House; the album was featured on Ireland's RTE and Colorado Public Radio. As a composer, she has set the words of the Welsh poet laureate to music for choir and her original carol “The Donkey and the Doves” was voted by CPR listeners in the top 10 favorite carols for over a decade. As a teacher, she has been recognized as a ‘pioneer’ of folk song teaching for her original childrens' song games set to old Irish songs. With every song, story, lesson, and show, she wishes to share the power of song with her audiences, with an air of grace, gratitude, feistiness, and fun.
